Susan Reeves, M. Ed., CCC-SLP:

Educated at Southwest Texas State University, graduated in 1978, employed at West Texas Rehab Center from 1980-2011, serving as Speech Therapy Director for 28 years, as we as Senior Clinical Director for Pt/Ot/st, for last 15 years. I opened Reeves Rehab Speech Therapy Center in Feb. 2011 to present. I have served Texas Laryngectomee Association on planning committee and presenter for 25 years. I have served IAL as Board of Directors, Voice Institute Staff, and IAL adm manager in a volunteer capacity from 1985 to present.

Caroline Nickel, M.S. CCC-SLP:

Caroline is supervisor of speech pathology services at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She primarily treats head and neck cancer patients in acute care and the outpatient clinic. She also serves as the speech pathology liaison for BUMC supportive palliative care team.

Lacey Martin, M.S. CCC-SLP:

Lacey is a Speech Language Pathologist at the Dallas VA Medical Center where she actively evaluates and treats Laryngectomees. She became interested in working with Larygectomee’s during her graduate school internship at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Lacey’s interest in Laryngectomee rehabilitation stems from mentorship of Susan Reeves in rural West Texas. Susan was instrumental in introducing her to TLA and IAL. Lacey proudly holds the Secretary positions for the TLA and is active member of the Dallas Lost Chord Club. She remains resolute in her dedication to Laryngectomee rehabilitation.

Lenka Stanova, MD:

Lenka Stankova, MD is the Section Chief of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the VA North Texas Health Care System. Dr. Stankova graduated from the University of Arizona College of Medicine and completed her residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She completed her fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto. She is board certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

David Sher, MD, MPH

I am an Associate Professor in Radiation Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and the lead head and neck radiation oncologist. I have been practicing for 10 years and have a strong interest in quality-of-life outcomes in head and neck radiotherapy.

Candy Moltz, M.S., CCC-SLP

Educated at Baylor University (BA) and University of Texas at Dallas (MS) in Communication Disorders and have worked in the field of Speech Language Pathology treating adults in hospitals, Nursing Homes and Home Health since 1976.  Retired from the Dallas VA  Medical Center  after 23 years working directly with veterans diagnosing and treating Speech. Language, and Swallowing problems related to Neurogenics and Head and Neck Cancer.  Worked on the state planning committee of the Texas Laryngectomee Association since it began in 1990 offering annual conferences dedicated to the total rehabilitation of laryngectomees.  Served as a member at large on the International Association of Laryngectomees Board of Directors since 2012.

Diane Longnecker, M.S., CCC-SLP, BCS-S

Diane Longnecker is an ASHA certified speech pathologist specializing in evaluation and

treatment of swallowing disorders. She received her board certification in swallowing and

swallowing disorders (BCS-S) in 2012.  She currently serves as the Advanced Clinical

Specialist/Clinical Educator for the Speech Pathology department at Baylor University Medical

Center in Dallas, Texas.  Primary patient populations served are inpatient general oncology and

Inpatien & outpatient head and neck cancer.  Interests beyond her clinical duties include staff

education, standardization of clinical practice, and presenting at the local, state and national

level.

Frank Brick:

Frank is a laryngectomee and the President of New Voice Club of Austin. He also volunteers to help with support clubs in San Antonio and Houston on a monthly basis.

Betsy Ruiz, M.S. CCC-SLP:

I have worked at Parkland Memorial Hospital (Dallas country hospital) for 14 years including treating a variety of disorder populations in inpatient and outpatient settings. I have dedicated the last 9 years to the ENT patient population including the head and neck cancer and voice patient population.

Brad Smith, M.S., CCC-SLP:

Brad Smith, MS. CCC-SLP, CLT has been a speech-language pathologist since 1988 and a certified lymphedema therapist since 2006. He was a senior speech pathologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center for 12 years before moving to Dallas in 2016 to join the Sammons Cancer Center at Baylor University Medical Center. Mr.  Smith specializes in head and neck cancer rehabilitation and is considered an expert in both post-laryngectomy rehabilitation and management of head and neck lymphedema. He has authored or co-authored 3 journal articles and 3 textbook chapters, and written multiple articles on management of head and neck lymphedema.  Mr. Smith is a frequent speaker at state, national, and international conferences.

Emily Poole M.A.CCC-SLP

Emily Poole is a practicing speech pathologist in Jacksonville, FL and a SLP clinical specialist with InHealth Technologies. She joined InHealth from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago where she was the senior speech language pathologist and associate faculty member in their Communication Disorders program. With over 15 years of clinical experience she has specialized in adult acquired populations with an emphasis on voice restoration, dysphasia and head and neck cancer populations in all levels of care. Ms. Poole also has extensive experience in clinical training and professional education.
