Susan Reeves, M. Ed., CCC-SLP:

Educated at Southwest Texas State University, graduated in 1978, employed at West Texas Rehab Center from 1980-2011, serving as Speech Therapy Director for 28 years, as we as Senior Clinical Director for Pt/Ot/st, for last 15 years. Opened Reeves Rehab Speech Therapy Center in Feb.2011 to present. Have served Texas Laryngectomee Association on planning committee and presenter for 25 years. Have served IAL as Board of Directors, Voice Institute Staff and IAL adm manager in a volunteer capacity from 1985 to present.

 Caroline Nickel, M.S. CCC-SLP:

Caroline is supervisor of speech pathology services at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She primarily treats head and neck cancer patients in acute care and the outpatient clinic. She also serves as the speech pathology liaison for BUMC supportive palliative care team.

Lacey Martin, M.S. CCC-SLP:

Lacey is a Speech Language Pathologist at the Dallas VA Medical Center where she actively evaluates and treats Laryngectomees. She became interested in working with Larygectomee’s during her graduate school internship at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Lacey’s interest in Laryngectomee rehabilitation stems from mentorship of Susan Reeves in rural West Texas. Susan was instrumental in introducing her to TLA and IAL. Lacey proudly holds the Secretary positions for the TLA and is active member of the Dallas Lost Chord Club. She remains resolute in her dedication to Laryngectomee rehabilitation.

Lenka Stanova, MD:

Lenka Stankova, MD is the Section Chief of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the VA North Texas Health Care System. Dr. Stankova graduated from the University of Arizona College of Medicine and completed her residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She completed her fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto. She is board certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

 Candy Moltz, M.S., CCC-SLP:

Educated at Baylor University (BA) and University of Texas at Dallas (MS) in Communication Disorders and have worked in the field of Speech Language Pathology treating adults in hospitals, Nursing Homes and Home Health since 1976.  Retired from the Dallas VA  Medical Center  after 23 years working directly with veterans diagnosing and treating Speech. Language, and Swallowing problems related to Neurogenics and Head and Neck Cancer.  Worked on the state planning committee of the Texas Laryngectomee Association since it began in 1990 offering annual conferences dedicated to the total rehabilitation of laryngectomees.  Served as a member at large on the International Association of Laryngectomees Board of Directors since 2012.

Nicole Palmer, M.S., CCC-SLP

Nicole Palmer is a practicing clinical Speech-Language Pathologist with the South Texas Veterans Health care System. She has been working at the Audie L Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, TX since September 2017. Prior to movie to San Antonio, she completed her Master’s of Science at the University of North Texas in Denton. One of the area of clinical practice, Nicole is most passionate about is augmentative-alternative communication (AAC). She has experience evaluating, prescribing, and training patients to use many forms of AAC, including patients with ALS, muscular dystrophy, aphasia, cognitive-communication deficits, and aphonia/dysphonia/dysarthria as a result of head & neck cancer.

 Lori Henkener, M.A. CCC/SLP

Educated at the University of North Texas (BA) and Saint Louis University (MA). Lori currently works at the ENT Clinics of San Antonio and has a large head and neck cancer caseload. She has been working with laryngectomy patientsin various settings for more than 20 years. She is very actively involved with the weekly interdisciplinary Tumor Board, the local Support Group for People with Oral, Head and Neck Cancer (SPOHNC) and the New Voices Club of San Antonio.

Kristi DeHaan, M.S., CCC-SLP

Kristi DeHaan received a Master of Science in Communication Disorders from Southwest Texas State and

has been a speech pathologist for nearly 25 years. She feels privileged to work with patients diagnosed

with head and neck cancer and has spent the last 19 years of her career at ENT Clinics of San Antonio.

Diane Longnecker, M.S., CCC-SLP, BCS-S

Diane Longnecker is an ASHA certified speech pathologist specializing in evaluation and

treatment of swallowing disorders. She received her board certification in swallowing and

swallowing disorders (BCS-S) in 2012.  She currently serves as the Advanced Clinical

Specialist/Clinical Educator for the Speech Pathology department at Baylor University Medical

Center in Dallas, Texas.  Primary patient populations served are inpatient general oncology and

inpatient & outpatient head and neck cancer.  Interests beyond her clinical duties include staff

education, standardization of clinical practice, and presenting at the local, state and national

level.

Frank Brick:

Frank is a laryngectomee and the President of New Voice Club of Austin. He also volunteers to help with support clubs in San Antonio and Houston on a monthly basis.
